Marion County Senior Resources

The Marion County Senior Alliance is pleased to present this Directory of Senior Resources. These directories are being distributed throughout Marion County as an easy reference for questions and issues that may arise in your life situation.

For the most part, the resources listed are not-for-profit, char- ity or government organizations. Many, though not all, have an eligibility process that includes lower income requirements.

Be sure to ask for eligibility requirements, possible fees, and needed documentation when calling for assistance.

While for-profit companies are not specified, many private organizations provide excellent services to seniors including:
  • home care,
  • assisted living facilities,
  • nursing homes,
  • financial advisors, and
  • transport companies
For those readers purchasing their own care or service, mem- bers of the Senior Alliance are listed at the end of this publica- tion and include some outstanding examples ofthese types of businesses. Membership in the Senior Alliance is voluntary and indicates commitment to seniors and senior issues in Marion County ... we are here to serve.

Many private Home Care agencies may provide some or all of non-medical services such as companionship, homemaking, personal care and respite. Senior Alliance members in- clude businesses in both categories.

Some Assisted Living Facilities and Nursing Homes accept Medicaid for eligible persons. Assisted Living includes house- keeping, meals, some transportation, and activities.
