File Format Conversions Format conversion services are available to convert existing files - such as old files created with software no longer in use - into formats that allow viewing and editing of files with currently available software. Frequently needed conversions include: Word processing files such as Corel WordPerfect and MS Works into Microsoft Office, LibreOffice or Open Office formats. Spreadsheet files such as Lotus123 or Corel QuattroPro into Excel or other current formats Database formats such as DBF into MS Access Presentation formats into MS PowerPoint Cross-conversion of graphic, photo, audio or video files Currently many websites exist which will convert files across formats for free. These can be very useful and convenient, but typically handle files only one at a time, and typically take a long time except for small files. Some of these require downloading and installing special web apps which may also include malware on the user's computer. Converting files of any significant size, or converting multiple files can be handled much more efficiently and safely using proprietary desktop software. Fees for biblical research support generally follow a flat rate schedule of $40 per hour, prorated, but may be negotiated to follow a fixed project budget.
