ERROR MESSAGES

Those who have used this site for long already know that files here periodically get renamed. Usually we notify known visitors of these changes. If you run into a "File Not Found" error message: Contact us by email for the new filename, or revisit your usual entry page which should contain updated filename links.

Special Notes re. URL Links

Pages here include a large number of internal and external URL links.

External URLs change so frequently that it is not unusual for a page of links to become outdated. If you encounter a page where many external links have expired, please let us know by email, informing us of which of our pages has become deficient in this regard. Generally we can bring a page of external links up to par within a few weeks.

Internal links are more easily managed. If you get "File Not Found" after clicking one of our internal links, email us. Usually we can fix the link or inform you of URL change within a week of your contacting us.

We review most of the links here on a quarterly basis, but sometimes dead links may slip by.

If you find a link here that doesn't work, please let us know if you can take the time to do so.

If you try to connect to a dead link on this site, the "not found" screen should give you link to email us to correct the dead link.

If you try to connect to a dead link from this site to another, it may need correction or it may "appear" dead for a variety of reasons:
  • The web administrator for another site may simply be running behind it correcting its forwarding files.
  • The external site may be "part-time" (many sites are not "up" all the time).
  • The site may be overseas, where many sites are sporadically inaccessible for no apparent reason.
  • The site may have moved, in which case the updated Internic listing for new name and DNS routing is not yet complete.
These are some common explanations for when links may be out of commission temporarily.
