Facebook has come to be the go-to place for most family and friend circles to keep up with each other's everyday lives.

Sharing photos certainly is the most prevalent Facebook activities among family members living at a distance geographically.

It's also one of the most fun ways to enjoy having a computer nowadays. Despite the overload of negative news about the Internet, getting one Facebook can be a relaxing way to connect in addition to phone calls and personal visits.

Getting set up with a Facebook page has gotten easier over time. The main steps are
  1. To create a Facebook account using your email address as an "ID"
  2. To set a few privacy options to customize your Facebook presence to be visible to only who you choose
  3. To find and invite those family members or friends you choose to connect with you as "Facebook friends"
  4. To begin uploading photos - for example, a profile picture and any assortment of pictures you'd like to share on your Facebook page or as an album
Typically it doesn't take more than about 90 minutes to go through these steps. Once that's done, it just takes a bit of practice time to get the swing of using Facebook.

(Other ways of sharing photos with family and friends include: Emailing them as attachments; or using the "cloud" (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox, for example); or creating a photo-themed website (there are several popular web companies that offer easy-to-use phone album designs for free). Each of these has its advantages, but none have the popularity that Facebook commands.)

Using Facebook is the easiest way to share photos in tandem with following your Facebook friends messages and posting or replying with your own. There are many other features Facebook offers, from games to news and more. Messaging and photo-sharing are probably the easiest and most widely used Facebook activities.

Facebook originally was a website for young students. Now it's used universally by people of all ages and is one of the most popular ways of keeping in touch for friends and family at a distance.

You can access Facebook through most any computer, tablet or smart phone with WiFi access.

If you need some help or practice using Facebook, feel free to "Friend" me or reply by email. I can help with setting up and tutoring, and even point to some good online videos for beginner Facebook users.
