One of the most powerful tool sets available for computer users today is available for free simply by having a Google account. Creating a Google account until recently meant setting up a Gmail address. Nowadays you can set up a Google account tied to another email account you already have, but I generally recommend doing it by creating a Gmail address, even if you continue to use your existing address for your emailing. Google provides access to a wide range of free services that you access mainly through your web browser. Google services work best when you access them through Chrome, Google's own web browser. You can use more than one browser on your computer or device - so if you're using Edge or Firefox as your browser now you can still use Chrome for other purposes. If you're using an Android phone or certain other mobile devices, you can access a whole suite of Google tools through Google's Playstore. Also, such devices easily accommodate synchronizing your phone and contact records with Google Contacts and Gmail, and even Maps. Icons for the most widely used Google tools can be found via dropdown menu clicking the 3x3-dot icon in the upper right corner of Google's main page.
